Midsummer Milestone: It’s official - only a week to go…

Dear All,
Good Morning!
Last Friday, SMG shareholders voted to back the sale of Virgin Radio by SMG to TIML Radio. This means that in a little over a week’s time, from Monday June 30th, we will officially join the team at One Golden Square.
So what does this mean?
It means that we will be in the building full time, getting to know you and the business better. Listening, probing, asking, listening. As we’ve said before, we need your input as we flesh out our exciting new plans. Our aspiration is to build a global audio brand for the modern day radio consumer based around music and entertainment and we know that at One Golden Square we have the talent and potential to realise it.
When will the new brand be revealed?
We will maintain the existing brand until the Autumn. During this time it’ll be full steam ahead with the exciting preparations for our new brand. We have already put in the hours on this with Albion and look forward to updating you in this process going forward. We will be back to you with more on this as the process evolves.
A few words on the transition period
The Autumn may seem like a long time but it will fly by. We want to use every day to ensure that we are totally ready for the changeover. There are high expectations from clients, media the audience and ourselves. We want to exceed everyone’s expectations, with your help.
As always, if you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact any one of us.
The TIML Radio team

Could you leverage in a few more business management cliches going forward?

Hi Bingethink,
Well, I think that’s probably a fair call on the business clichés (I normally try very hard to avoid them I promise!) - but hopefully what is clear is the sentiment and ambition that lies behind not only the original post, but also this entire blog.
In a recent post Geoff asked the quesiton “Will TIML/Absolute carry on as they’ve begun, and encourage an open environment where this bunch of brilliant oddballs can speak freely and passionately, and share fresh thinking?”. We certainly entend to, and in the meantime we’re simply excited that, through this blog, it already seems to be working.
