Reading this, it seems a lot of the emphasis is on the London listener. While I can understand why there should be so much competition to attract such a large number of people, I would beg you not to get any more London focused. Its one thing that really makes me want to switch stations, it feels as though listeners from elsewhere are second class citizens. So please keep a national focus.

It is a privilege to be a listener and I am indeed most grateful for the opportunity. Thank you.

Marty, international listening does not contribute towards RAJAR. Official audience figures are only measured in the UK by residents who are provided with RAJAR diaries.

In the same way, if I listen to a New York radio station online, that listening will not be counted by Arbitron in the US ratings.

Indeed you find many broadcasters try to prevent international listeners from hearing their services for a variety of reasons, not least of which is that it costs them money to serve the streams, but the listening that comes through it doesn't generate any advertising revenue since the majority of advertisements are targeted at the domestic market.

Adam, please explain how the international online listeners are accounted for. My understanding is that the international online listener is not a factor in the RAJAR ratings.

Thanks.
