Hard Decisions by Clive, Donnach & Adrian

David Lloyd will be leaving us next Friday 19th September. Donnach, Adrian and I didn’t know David that well before we meet in early July and having done so I am really sorry that we did not work together for longer.

As any new owner of a business knows, the most difficult decisions of all often involve people and letting someone of David’s enormous talent and calibre go. We had a hard decision to take and once we spoke to him about it, he accepted it with total professionalism.

His whole attitude and approach has been outstanding. Some people, if they knew they were leaving, might ease off and coast toward their departure date. Not David. With the business at Golden Square about to go through the biggest change it has done in its 15 year history, he has remained as hard working, dedicated and passionate about this business as he has always been, indeed more so.

Throughout the past weeks during the re-branding process, he has been one of the most enthusiastic and positive people involved in the whole process. The road from V to A would not have as smooth or as fun without his enthusiasm, skill, judgement or council

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with him over the past few months and we wish him every success possible with his future radio career.

Thanks David.

Clive, Donnach & Adrian

I’ll miss his infectious laugh, his quiet efficiency and his loud shirts. Not to mention his incredible tact & diplomacy.

  3. Adrian H,

    I third the shirts comment.

Just to say that one would be hard pressed to find a more hard working and enthusiastic chap in this crazy business as David - you’ll be missed!

  5. Alistair MacPherson,

I had the privilege of meeting David briefly when he arranged my interview with Clive Dickens. However, just from that meeting I knew he would be a great loss to the station as he is a very enthusiastic, funny, well liked person.

I do hope he is going on to do bigger and better things and I am sure we will hear more of him in the future.

One door closes another…David Lloyd brings some extra panache and sparkle to any radio project. Above his professionalism is his real radio passion. As a listener, thank you David. Will be keeping an ear to the ground to tune in to yr next station - David Lloyd is a top “brand”
