Just a quick response from me...

We're not actually changing any of the equipment. It has been removed just so that we can work in there safely without damaging it, although it's going to take us a fair while to get it all back in! With regards to an instant jukebox, we've had that functionality for years and years now, as the majority of our broadcast audio is stored in linear WAV files on a fairly large SAN in our technical area. This means that all the files are available within seconds with just a simple search.

We've used lots of different flavours of playout systems over the years, and have used Genesys (designed and written by Genesys Technologies in the USA and resold in the UK by Broadcast Bionics) since 2004. We'll still be running with this as it's working well for us - if it ain't broke...

Looking good guys, Can't wait for Absolute having heard about some of the new DJ's who are joining. Geeky question alert, what playout system are you going to use?

Know one has really explained the technical details too why your changing the equipment? Is there more computers to be added? Will you have an instant jukebox where you can get the listeners requests on straight away. Oh that be a good show Instant Jukebox, but probably been done to death on other stations?

I look forward to viewing the new and improved Studio A on the webcams. Wouldn't it be great if the presenters could view the listeners on webcams? Maybe not all listeners?
