What’s Happening – The Podcast by Paul Sylvester

As you’d expect lots of people have got lots of questions about what’s going to happen here at 1 Golden Square over the next few weeks. Lots of anecdotes about house renting, Jif and Opal Fruits…

Why are we changing the name?
Will we be having a tie-up with the vodka brand? (if I’ve had one email about this I’ve had a hundred!)
What’s happening to my favourite presenter?
What changes will there be to the website?
Will we be playing Leona Lewis? (Think you know the answer, then maybe think again)

VIP Alistair, AKA Zippy, is a regular in our online forums and a loyal listener over the last 15 years. He wanted to get answers and so he asked whether he could interview Clive about it!

Errrr……yes, of course – seems like a good idea to get a fresh perspective and make sure we’re on the right track and answering the right questions.

This morning, Zippy met Clive (with Bungle pressing the buttons – sorry that’s supposed to read Bing).

I’m very glad that Alistair came in. Firstly, it was lovely to meet an active member of our close-knit online community. I spend a lot of time with our VIPs on the website and they are a very friendly bunch, plus it’s always nice to put a face to a VIP profile!
Secondly, I think it was great of both Clive and Alistair to take the time to do this, so thank you to you both.

So far, the community has reacted very positively, it’s clear that they appreciate the opportunity to have an input. And I think that naturally, this openness is going to be an important facet of the station going forward.

I know that I keep saying it, but I am ridiculously excited about what’s happening at Absolute Radio. I truly believe that we’re onto a Very Good Thing. Hoorah!

Some questions?

Will there be a sticker available?

Will there be a listen again facility?

Will the online prizes be different?

Will you play not the everyday 80’s songs and hear ones we haven’t before or rarely do?

Will we not hear the same songs repeated over and over again on your playlists and shows etc, etc

More Live music?

Ah Marco, you need to listen to the podcast as some of your questions are answered there! And what is wrong with Leona Lewis.. she is great looking and has a fantastic voice. I also like the ginger haired girl from Girls Aloud anddont get me talking about Mylene Klass… WOW… unfortunately radio isn’t their best medium ;-)
