I note this week’s schedule seems even less coverage that last weekend’s schedule. I can see the programmes targeted are good but I would have thought you would have many more ads on ITV etc considering you are introducing a new brand… I have seen a fair number of Smooth and Magic ads lately and would have thought you would at least be exceeding if not doubling or trebling their current advertising.
Hello. We're Donnach, Clive and Adrian. At the end of June 2008 we joined the team at One Golden Square, with big plans for the UK's biggest commercial radio station. This blog is where we are discussing and shaping our audio and online radio vision. Anyone from the team is welcome to write a post, and comments are, of course, welcome from all.
In the news
Chris Martin on denying that Coldplay could sell out 21 nights like the artist formerly known as Prince.
'No, I don't think we could....you can't do that unless you've got impeccable facial hair....with this facial hair we could probably sell out five nights'. To Christian O'Connell, Absolute Radio
'An Absolutely new vision for commercial radio' Media Monkey headline on Guardian Unlimited on Monday 29th September.
'I can't wait to hear Absolute' Coldplay's Chris Martin, as reported on Mirror.co.uk on 29th September
'Absolute orders £5m breakfast show revamp' Broadcast headline, 26th September
'Absolute is letting listeners help pick the music. Is it a gimmick or the future? .....having met Clive Dickens, I know he's passionate in his belief that radio in this country can and should be done better, more so than any of the industry's other figureheads. Dickens wouldn't waste time trying something if he thought no good would come of it. Maybe Absolute Radio will sing a different song to the rest of the industry.' Organ Grinder, Guardian Unlimited, 25th September
