Just like the BBC’s legendary Duty Log – Absolute Radio has it’s very own forum for listeners to tell us what they think about the station. Each week we plow through these emails and reply to them in the hope that we can at least explain why we do what we do. Human nature being what it is, people are far more likely to complain than they are to praise us but regardless, we thought it might be nice to share some of their thoughts with you. What’s nice to see is how much they care about their radio station.
On moving the 80’s hour…
Hey! Just wanted to ask why the 80’s hour has been moved to 12pm? I loved listening to it at work at 10am! I work from 9-12 & it was the best hour whilst working. By 12:00 I’m done & have to make my way home so would end up missing it. I LOVE my 80’s music & I’m always telling people about my beloved 80’s hour! I was so gutted when I heard Russ say it had been moved,my heart sank! If there is any way it can be moved back (which I have a small feeling it probably won’t be able to as I’m only one person…!) that would be fantastic! Cheers Absolute
Repetitious ads…
You may not repeat your music but the adverts are becoming so annoying we (this is an office complaint) are contemplating turning off the radio. One in particular has become like finger nails over glass – its on too much and is an assault on the ears….please stop it. Its not just us, we were calling a customer not five minutes ago and the same advert was playing in the background. Our customer apologised and gestured to her colleague to either switch the radio off or she would put her foot through it….says it all, don’t ruin your radio station chasing the ££££ from the advertising revenue. Think about how adverts sound in the office environment, noise, distortion and repetition is not pleasant….that advert is appalling .
And despite the no-repeat guarantee – we get complaints from people who think our music it too repetitive…
Dear Programming people.
I am absolutely fed up with the very small number of tracks that keep getting repeated day after day, it seems that you have a small box of about twenty tracks and that they are repeated daily (it seems alot more playings per day than that). Can you extend the number of tracks chosen so that I dont keep thinking “I’m sure I heard that a few moments ago!”
Same time same place next week then?
Roque
