Absolute Radio Appoints Chris Goldson As The Station’s New Commercial Director

It’s with pride that I can announce that we have appointed Chris Goldson as the stations new Commercial Director who will be filling the very big boots that Nick Hewat is leaving as he leaves radio after seventeen years to take a new position in print at the Telegraph group.

Chris is highly respected amongst the agency world, clients and the industry alike with a wealth of experience across both embedded content and display sales. This appointment is in line with the station’s business model of embedded branded content – Chris’s forte – playing a bigger part in our overall revenue mix. At the moment it’s majority spot (70:30) but we’re still well ahead of the industry in this area and we are looking to re-weight this further.

Chris has been involved with the development of the Absolute brand from the very beginning and he has already helped shape the ambitions and future direction of the business and, as you can imagine, he has many ideas of what we need to do to further develop it commercially.
Chris has been at Golden Square for six years and it’s testament to the talent at Golden Square that this is an appointment from within the business.

Chris is the perfect choice to lead the continued development of our commercial business and his approach defines the future of commercial radio revenue generation.
