Linkin Park – New Divide (15th June)
Theme song from the new Transformers movie which opens at cinemas on June the 19th.
Linkin Park have sold more than 45 million records worldwide.

Yeah You’s – 15 Minutes (15th June)
Debut single from London duo who count Queen among their influences

Dave Matthews Band – Funny The Way It Is (29th June)
Dave Matthews and his band play Hard Rock Calling in London’s Hyde Park on Sunday the 28th of June

The Gaslight Anthem – The ’59 Sound (29th June)
New band from New Jersey, who play on the same bill as Bruce Springsteen at Hard Rock Calling, Sunday 28th June

Paloma Faith – Stone Cold Sober (15th June)
Debut single from one-time actress and burlesque singer whose influences include Billie Holiday and Etta James.

Geoff’s Hometime Track of the Week:

Florence And The Machine – Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) (22nd June)
Florence And The Machine are a new band from South London who won the “Critic’s Choice” Award at this year’s Brit Awards. This single is the follow-up to Geoff Lloyd’s Record of The Week ‘Dog Day Are Over’ and is from Florence’s debut album ‘Lungs’, out 6th of July.

    I just bookmark the playlist, as the URL doesn’t change from week to week.
    Three comments:

    1) “The ‘59 Sound” is killer.
    2) Nobody at Absolute can get the name of the Carolina Liar song right! It’s “Show Me What I’m Looking For.” Fix it fix it fix it fix it fix it fix it fix it. Fix it.
    3) Dave Matthews Band doesn’t really seem like the traditional Absolute Radio genre. Not that I have a problem with that.
