I think we've hit on the old "you can't please all of the people all of the time" addage here Alex. From playing no Kings of Leon tracks 12 months ago to what you might describe as overkill, is something worth considering.

However, the stark reality is that two million people have bought the current Kings of Leon album. Furthermore from the presentation above based on research, you can see that the audience love the band. We can't argue with the cold hard statistics. Thanks to the no repeat policy and our commitment to the Kings of Leon, you are guaranteed to hear not only tracks from the new album, but also others from the back catalogue.

I understand that you feel the Kings are overplayed on Absolute Radio but I may also suggest that you might be one of our muso "why don't we play them" listeners from the last era. Perhaps you feel a little aggrieved that you have to share your favourite niche band with a mainstream audience these days! (see Kaiser Chiefs fans for further details)

These things move in cycles though. As the last Coldplay album plateaud and eventually came to the end of it's life, so the Kings moved into the ascendancy. In turn, this Kings of Leon album will reach the end of it's life and another band will be on the rise - such is the cyclical nature of things. Roll on Blur!

Afraid I'm one of the negative. I think they're played too much which has ruined them for me...
