I couldn't agree more with Mr Red. Absolute is becoming unlistenable with Christian in the mornings playing about three songs an hour, and Iain Lee and the likes of Tim Shaw wallocking on in the evenings. The music selection's still the best around - why not let us have more of it.

I thought Absolute was about the music, not the presenter. Iain may be a talented broadcaster, but I don't select a music station to listen to a person talking or doing stand up.

Maybe Absolute need to launch another spinoff station, Absolute Talk ?

The original aims of the station that Clive posted on this blog was all about the music. Is that getting lost?

How can you be mainstream and like marmite (very niche) both at the same time? There are pleanty of other stations that are run of the mill and it's ace that Absolute and Iain both know their audience and aren't afraid to say "don't like it, then don't listen".

To many celeb presenters and not enough music. Get the music right first and then decide if you need stars to make your station attractive. Rock Radio in Manchester is a mile better than Absolute at the moment

I suspect this will be seen as a bad idea by many. Iain has a very specific sense of humour, which is either liked or hated. Its like Marmite. Ben Jones however seems to appeal to many.

Having someone on every night who polarises opinion is yet another way Absolute is becoming more like Radio One. Trying to meet everyones tastes, and actually meeting none. I'm 34 if that matters.

Excellent news, a real talented broadcaster doing something a little bit different. Exactly what Absolute Radio should be about.
