The new monthly streamed listening and podcast figures are now available.

Absolute Radio is still the only commercial station which is publicly releasing monthly details of the station’s worldwide live streamed listening hours. This new measurement system uses data from digital streams with actual listening figures collected from multiple computers or internet radio devices. This is the only truly accurate measurement of listening hours and provides further accountability for our customers.

In January the Absolute Radio Network – Absolute Radio, Absolute Classic Rock, Absolute 80s and dabbl posted a total of 7.1 million hours of live audio streamed which is up 2% from December (4.4 million from Absolute Radio alone).

A record 891,000 podcasts were downloaded in January which is up a massive 14% from the previous record of 779,000 set in December. 250,000 of January’s podcasts were videos which is an area of huge growth for the brand – Avatar and Twilight red carpet interviews led, firmly cementing Absolute Radio as a music and entertainment brand with digital at its core.
