Blur – Fool’s Day (available now)
Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree return with a track recorded in London earlier this month. It’s the first new Blur track since 2003 and was made available as a special 7” vinyl single as part of UK Record Shop Day last weekend. Understated but charming it sounds like an offcut from one of their defining albums ‘Modern Life is Rubbish’ or ‘Parklife’.
Rolling Stones – Plundered My Soul (17/05)
Available to download now, this unheard and unreleased Stones track dates from 1972. Its from the same legendary recording sessions as their classic album ‘Exile On Main Street’. ‘Exile..’ is often referred to as the band’s finest album and gets the full reissue treatment on the 17th of May with a full colour photos book and more ‘lost’ tracks.
Jack Johnson – You And Your Heart (24/05)
New single from the Hawai-born singer-songwriters 5th album ‘To The Sea’ (31/05), which was recorded at his own Mango Tree studios. Jack’s new world tour kicks off in June and once again 100% of the profits are donated to support environmental, art and music education charities. Jack returns to the UK this summer to play Glastonbury.
Paramore – The Only Exception (available now)
A bit of a departure for this rock band from Franklin, Tennessee, who formed in 2004. This lovely single is from their 3rd album ‘Brand New Eyes’ which was released last year. Paramore support Green Day on two of their European tour dates this summer, in Paris and Dublin.
