Absolute 80s - the nation’s only radio station dedicated to playing the undisputed classics of the 1980s - has teamed up with MTV Networks UK & Ireland to find the UK’s Greatest Song of the 80s.
If you like the sound of synths and the beat of a drum machine, or if you get a sense of melancholy when your hand accidentally brushes over the shoulder pads of that sequinned jacket you’ve sworn to the back of the cupboard – then there’s no doubt that you’re a true fan of the 80s.
But what was your favourite song of the 80s?
No doubt there will be hits springing to mind from the likes of Human League, U2, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Simple Minds, Duran Duran, Prince, ABC, Depeche Mode, Blondie and Bon Jovi, plus a sprinkling of timeless tunes from artists such as Bananarama, Culture Club and Madonna in the mix for the accolade. Well this is your chance to share your opinion and crown the ultimate song of the decade!
