Yes to all of the above.

With regard to the 90′s songs, no, because the majority are already played on absolute. It would be nice if you could keep absolute 90′s to songs that were released in the 90′s.

The above songs should definitely be on Absolute 90′s!! They are all fab tunes and classics – and many from movies which were huge in the 90′s – they all bring back memories and cheer me up! And for me, that’s what music’s for! :)
And those songs for the 80′s – definitely! :) All cracking tunes that you turn up the radio too and can’t help but sing along to!

Maybe a few more tunes too like Americanos by Holly Johnson, Happy Talk, Owen Paul – Favourite Waste of Time, bit more Rick Astley, maybe more Wham, Duran Duran and I’d be really feeling like I was back there! :)

I’m loving the channels – I work from home and constantly switch between the 2 – just love them! Love nothing better than cranking the tv up and singing my heart out as I work! :)

If we could have a few more of the poppy tunes that were popular in the clubs on the 90′s channel – like Two Times by Anne Lee, Jam and Spoon, stuff like that, that would be perfect! :)

It’s brilliant that there are the 2 channels dedicated to such fab eras musically in my opinion, and my hubby always cranks Absolute CR on when he gets in! Something for everyone! It’s fab and have told everyone I know to get listening! :)

Yes to all of the above. Although the original releases were earlier they were hits and/or featured in important soundtracks of those decades. They were all heavily played in clubs during the 80s/90s so why not on a radio station celebrating the decades.

Please please please stick to songs that are from the 90s for Absolute 90s, as even if they’re from film soundtracks if they’re not 90s tunes they don’t belong on a 90s radio station. There’s an entire decade of diverse music to explore from the nineties, so if you are looking to expand the playlist look there. I love the new station as it is, and will be bitterly disappointed if you include these listed tracks.

Yes, in general — tunes that are part of the soundtrack to the 90s should be played; that they were also released in a previous decade doesn’t diminish them from being 90s tracks too.

This especially applies to singles that were re-released in the 90s and became hits, and double-so for tracks like ‘Young at Heart’ which were bigger hits in the 90s (number 1 in 1993) than on original release (number 8 in 1984).

PS: “Absolute Radio 80s”? It seems even Absolute staff get tripped up by the different naming of the two stations!

Yes those ’90′s songs should be played, as I think they define the ’90′s much better than a band like Oasis who were just trying to be like The Beatles. The songs up there have character and a relevant meaning to them. I’d listen to them! :)

Not the f*cking Bluebells please – have mercy!

Personally, I think that those songs are better kept off 90s station. Although they were in films and such like in the decade, and that most of them are decent songs, they did not really belong to 1990s. Stick to songs released specifically in the 90s.
I just heard Chuck Berry on the station, obviously as the soundtrack to Pulp Fiction, but it just sounds out of place with the rest of the music and leaves us confused. Besides if film soundtracks become the basis of track selections for AR90s, then where will it stop? Will there then be tracks getting played because it was in an advert and the result is simply a clone of the main AR station?
The station is a celebration of the great music that the 90s gave us, not simply a showcase for other tracks that had a resurgence in popularity in that decade.
Enjoying the station, keep up the good work!
But please, keep the Bluebells CD safely in its case. And for super-safety, transfer it to the bin.

Agree. All should be played during the respective decades even if they were re-released. The Pulp Fiction soundtrack was “eclectic.”
(I bet you didn’t think I knew that word).

In addition, I would like to request that you add “Party All the Time” by Eddie Murphy to the 80s play list and once again request that you add U Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer to the 90s play list. Thank you for your consideration.

Tania has just read the news and I’ve learnt that Paul the Psychic Octopus has retired from his present position.

I would enlist his aid on each of these songs.

That would bring a sense of finality to the matter.

No. Just because they found fame in the 90s doesn’t make them 90s tracks.

Well if ‘n’ you feel you need to ask, YES play them all, it’s all rock ‘n’ Roll to me.
