Tie up with Microsoft Office 2010 for Summer-long Promotion by Kat Knapp

Microsoft Office 2010 launched last month and we are teaming up with them this summer to interact with families and give listeners the chance to “Make it great this summer” and win some great prizes for their home and school.

We are giving one lucky winner the chance to win £10,000 of IT equipment for their kids primary school. All listeners need to do is enter their school via absoluteradio.co.uk – it’s as simple as that. We sent out an email to 16,000 schools across the UK encouraging teachers and parents to get involved. The schools can also download posters and flyers enabling teachers to share the idea with parents and children across the school.
We’ve had loads of entries already – in fact we had over 260 schools nominated in the first 2 hours of the page being live.

As well as this we are also encouraging kids across the UK to write a summer holiday homework project showing what they have been up to in their summer hols- some of the best entries will talk live on-air to Geoff as he rewards the winners with family computer packages loaded with Office 2010 plus Xboxes and TV’s.

Always going one step further, we are even producing printed packs that kids can request giving them tips and advice on how to create their summer projects.

And if that wasn’t enough Geoff is running a promotion next week bringing back his old favourite ‘Grown Up games for Kids’ where kids under 11 will come to air and answer impossibly hard questions- think Mensa type science questions. Luckily they’ll have 2 answers to choose from so it’s a 50/50 chance of winning more family computer packages.

The microsite give details on all of the above, and for the first time ever includes crayon drawings and flowers.

Not happy with just that, Microsoft Office 2010 are also sponsoring the Absolute Radio player too for July and August.

Make it great this summer, and pass on details to anyone you know with kids in primary schools… we’re sure this will keep the little tykes busy…
