Listen to Two New Radio Stations on the New Absolute Radioplayer By Anthony Abbott

Today we’ve launched version two of the Absolute Radioplayer, where you can hear two brand new radio stations from Absolute Radio.

The new Absolute Radioplayer is the only place that you can listen to a sample of what Absolute Radio 60s and Absolute Radio 70s will sound like when they go live on DAB Radio and online from the 22nd and 29th November respectively. The new stations are available exclusively to Absolute Radio Account holders, and you will be asked to sign-in or register for a free account before you can listen. Head over to absoluteradio.co.uk/listen.

As well as being able to listen to Absolute Radio, Absolute Radio 60s, Absolute Radio 70s, Absolute 80s, Absolute Radio 90s, Absolute Radio 00s, Absolute Classic Rock and Absolute Radio extra via the updated Channel Bar (now with channel-hopping keyboard shortcuts), we’ve also added several significant new features to our Radioplayer, including RadioSync.

Developed by the One Golden Square Labs team, RadioSync provides listeners with contextual information about what is happening now and next on the radio station you are listening to, while putting you in control of the stuff that you might have missed.

By now, we’re all used to seeing song “now playing” information in an online player, but what about the stuff that just happened, and what about the song that is coming up next? This is all available in RadioSync, but its not just about the music any more.

We want you to know that a quick glance at the Absolute Radioplayer will provide you with relevant information about what you are hearing, right at that moment; Whether that’s a song you recognise but can’t remember who sang it, a link for the gig tickets you just heard the DJ talk about, or the ability to claim that special offer you just heard in an ad.

As well as telling you what’s happening now, you can explore RadioSync with your keyboard or mouse while you listen, moving back or forward in time. Its easy to get straight back to the present moment at any time.

We’ve given our 20,000 podcast episodes the RadioSync treatment too, making it easier to listen back to your favourite shows from Christian, Frank, Dave, Ronnie and more. Soon, we’ll be adding version 1 of RadioSync to our mobile apps and other connected devices too.

As well as RadioSync, we’re also introducing the Absolute Radio Account Bar and Share Bar to make it easier to for account holders to log-in and listen to us in HQ Audio, and to share what you’re listening to with friends on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.

Of course, the most important thing for an online player is that it’s reliable, easy to use, and great-sounding. Our new player uses the same Radioplayer controls and features you are familiar with if you have listened to any one of the 250+ UK stations available online, and of course Absolute Radio Account holders can still choose to listen to all our radio stations in glorious HQ Audio, for free.
