Nick Jackson to leave Absolute Radio

It’s with great sadness that we share the news that Nick Jackson is leaving One Golden Square at the end of the year in order to spend more time with his family.

Nick has been an amazing, integral part of our team for many years and has led afternoons to record audience figures in the last year. Along with Russ Williams he has helped The No Repeat Guarantee become one of the things for which Absolute Radio is best known. The ultimate perfectionist and a passionate ambassador for the station, Nick presents every show with the greatest aplomb, style and finesse. Simply put, he is one of the best of daytime broadcasters on the radio.

We’ll let you know very soon who’ll be taking over afternoons in 2012. However, for now please join us in thanking Nick for all of his efforts and send him your best wishes for the next stage in his career.

So sad to hear this , nick apart from Geoff Lloyd and Dave Gorman is one of the best dj you have. He’s in a world of his own, so polished and formal . Hope everything goes good for you in the future . Will be listening to your last shows might even tape one. Afternoons won’t be the same

Why didn’t Iain Lee get a nice blog about him when he left the station?

A real shame. Where are you going Nick? I’ve been listening on and off since I was a teenager in the Yorkshire Dales and you were doing the ‘Century Cash Casino’ on 105.4 Century FM! I love the enthusiasm and passion you get across, and how quickly and efficiently you communicate it. I’m now a reporter over at 5live and still listen whenever I can. I hope you’re back on the radio soon. Cheers, Chris

Nick, being the gentleman that he is, has always eschewed the limelight of Studio A for the solitude of Studios H, D and the mysterious Studio J. As part of the No Repeat Guarantee of Russ Williams (G-d) and Nick (G-d’s brother), no station could lay claim to two such booming voices one after the other. I will miss Nick’s professionalism and his subtle wit. As a listener, I am richer for having had the opportunity to partake of his broadcasts these past few years. My best wishes go out to you and your family, Nick!

Nick is one of the best jocks on the air, period. His shows on both Absolute and Caroline are consistently tremendous. He’s knowledgeable about the music he plays, engaging and intelligent….and I hope he’ll be back on the radio before long, reaching us all again.

Hopefully this will mean more time for shows on Radio Caroline -where he started.

He is the best presenter ever, don’t let him leave, please. If his leaving is unavoidable, please, lift Chris Martin from the evenings, and give him a better slot. For me, he is the “second best”.
