Absolute Radio is putting the music behind the Mo by staging an intimate gig with I Am Kloot at Barfly in Camden, London for a group of lucky competition winners participating in the moustache-growing men’s health movement Movember.
The gig, to be hosted by Absolute Radio DJ’s Pete Donaldson and Sarah Champion, aims to reward the brave and selfless Mo Bros who are growing for Movember this year, and the patient Mo Sistas who have supported them every step of the way.
We’ve also donated an on-air campaign to Movember, supported by an online hub at http://www.absoluteradio.co.uk/ to drive awareness and mobilise Absolute Radio listeners to take part in Movember and raise money by ‘Growing a Mo’ and join the Absolute Radio Movember network.
Fundraising incentives include the opportunity to win a number of signed Marshall Pure Evoke 1S DAB Radios from some of music’s elite, including Noel Gallagher, Elbow, Plan B, Muse and Mumford & Sons will also be on offer to listeners participating in Movember.
All money raised in the UK is directed to programmes run by Movember and their men’s health partners Prostate Cancer UK and The Institute of Cancer Research. In 2011, 854,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas raised over £79.3 million globally and over £22 million in the UK and since its humble beginnings in Melbourne Australia in 2003, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement with campaigns in 21 countries in 2012.
Absolute Radio presents I Am Kloot in support of Movember will take place at Camden’s Barfly on Monday 26th of November – to win tickets, listen to Absolute Radio or check out www.absoluteradio.co.uk or www.movember.com
