January Engagement Metrics
Every month we publish our key engagement metrics; we think it’s good share the insights into our listener’s online habits and are working hard to ensure that we provide consistent figures with others across the industry.
January’s engagement metrics show some big wins for us in the mobile market and the evidence points to that success being driven through our football strategy which is centred around our status as a Premier League commentary rights holder (along with music and comedy the beautiful game is one of the three ‘pillars’ of Absolute Radio).
Football helped to increase our apps’ combined monthly active users by 3% to 298,000 in January with total sessions up 8% to 2.2m, while the Station Players were used by 212,000 people (up 1%) and 86,000 used the Live Scores apps (up 6%). 18% of all Live Scores visits were from an iPad, up 1.7 percentage points.
There were 39,400 new account registrations this month and a whopping 59% on these were made via a mobile device. Total account registrations now sit at 1.0m.
It is also worth mentioning some of our social media metrics with our combined (Absolute Radio Network) Twitter following increasing by 17% to 116,000. Absolute Radio’s following increased by 19% to 95,000 while the rest of the station profiles increased by 9% to 21,000.
This is the result of both the sustained hard work of our team of social media operators who are constantly trying to engage and interact with our followers and fans in those spaces.
