News: August Engagement Metrics

Absolute Radio is providing greater insight into how our listeners hear our output online and we are working hard to ensure that we provide consistent figures with others across the industry.

We also include monthly data of smart phone and social media stats across the Absolute Radio network as well as a recap of our latest RAJAR results.

In August we continued to see the importance of mobile to our business with 55% of account registrations coming from a mobile device, showing a steady increase from 53% in July. In addition, 70% of our logged in listening comes from a mobile device. Logged-in listening is key part of overall strategy thanks to our pioneering InStream product.

InStream allows us to serve fewer, but more relevant ads to our logged in listeners who are enjoying Absolute Radio via an IP connected device. Simply put we can give our audience more enjoyable content with less spot advertising, and for our clients it means they can serve a far more accountable advertising campaign than by traditional radio means. InStream advertising also provides our audience with a direct call to action by way of a companion clickable ad. This means our users and listeners can click straight through to a point of purchase, make use of free trial or enter a competition while listening to the spot advertisement or branded content.
