We’ve launched a brand new sampling product to compliment our award-winning branded content capabilities. Absolute Radio ‘On the Road’ is a fully integrated sampling service which utilises on-air and digital messages to send a brand’s audience directly to product.
We will offer clients bespoke campaigns across one or many of Absolute Radio’s platforms to deliver product marketing messages and drive listeners to the sampling events. At these points the customer will be handed product by fully briefed and branded Absolute Radio promotional staff, with every campaign supported by data collection service via tablet PC. This facility will enable further interaction and accountability including prompting social networking interest in clients’ brands, driving sign-ups and competition entries.
On the Road launced this week with a tour of key media agencies (including Group M, Vivaki, Omnicom and Aegis’ agencies), and provided a direct sampling experience, using the service itself to demonstrate it in action.
The activity will also set agency staff up for the day with a croissant for the first entries into a competition to win a tablet PC and indispensible information on the Premier League fixtures for the season to compliment our three year 3pm Saturday afternoon commentary rights; Rock n Roll Football with Ian Wright, Jim Proudfoot and Russ Williams on Absolute Radio and Absolute Radio extra every Saturday from 1.30pm.
The Times Of India’s online division has announced a major investment in sports content – securing a package of English Premier League football rights, which will see highlights going out online and on mobile.
The company has cut a deal with the online sports rights operator and broadcaster Perform Group, which will see internet highlights going out on Indiatimes.com, and exclusive mobile highlights going out through Indiatimes.com’s 58888 mobile service and through Times-branded sections of Indian telcos’ mobile portals.
Times Internet Limited’s Rishi Khiani said:
“Given the growing popularity of football, especially England’s Barclays Premier League, in India, this is a strategic content partnership for us…Couple this with the growth of fans accessing sport via connected devices and our reach in the Indian market, we are poised to capitalize on these trends whilst simultaneously providing our readers and advertising partners with exciting new sport content.”
We are staging the very first Rock ‘N’ Roll Football Boys Night In – on Tuesday 18th October – an exclusive event put in place to raise money for our friends over at the The Prince’s Trust.
Our very own Ian Wright and Russ Williams will host proceedings, along with regular contributors to the show, including former Arsenal man Perry Groves, comedian Ian Stone plus special guest, Spurs legend and Prince’s Trust Ambassador Gary Mabbutt.
The team will act as an expert panel, and will bring the Rock ‘N’ Roll Football Saturday show mechanic to a live audience for the very first time. A select crowd including competition winners will enjoy watching Man City take on Villarreal in the Champions League, and talk tactics and predictions with the stars of the show before taking in the match on not one but three big screens. There are still a few more exclusive tickets left so tune into this Saturday’s show for your chance to win.
Complimentary food and refreshments will be on offer, as Wrighty leads a pre-match Q&A session. At half time an auction will take place featuring a series of top prizes and memorabilia including an England shirt signed by the squad, Absolute Radio footballs signed by music royalty and more.
In what hopes to be the start of a regular series of events, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Football Boys Night In will showcase our football offering to potential commercial partners while raising money to support dedicated charity partner The Prince’s Trust.
Money raised will go towards helping disadvantaged young people across the UK get the skills and confidence they need to get a job.
Through its partnership with the Premier League and Professional Footballers’ Association The Trust has helped over 17,000 young people through football since 1997, working with over 65 Premier League and Football League Clubs to deliver a range of programmes that have helped three in four young people in to work, training or education.
A quick note about a potentially exciting development for UK Radioplayer. There’s been a fair amount of International interest in what’s going on over here in the UK – which isn’t surprising, as in many ways Radioplayer is breaking new ground, with the evolution of radio on connected devices.
This has prompted enquiries about how other countries could adopt similar models – which would be beneficial for the digital radio landscape around the world, as it could lead to a harmonisation of standards and approaches. In keeping with the spirit of partnership which led to its inception, UK Radioplayer Ltd (the not-for-profit company set up to run and develop Radioplayer) is asking for ‘Expressions of Interest’ from anyone who’s interested in working together, to explore the international opportunities.
