New Vacancy: Absolute Radio’s Interactive Team is Recruiting for an Interactive Producer

 

The Role

The role of the Interactive Producer is responsible for the creation, upkeep and commercialisation of content areas along with the design and build of commercial microsites across Absolute Radio’s digital portfolio, under the direction of the Senior Interactive Producer.

Responsibilities include

  • Deliver creative, visually appealing, on-target solutions for client briefs and integrate sponsored editorial content for commercial partners, ensuring delivery and quality meet internal and external expectations.
  • Short term project management and production. While also having the technical ability to deliver tasks directly, the Producer will be required to manage project resources, both internal and external.
  • Recommend new and improve existing features and sections.
  • Think of and work on added value items, with a goal of attracting and retaining visitors.
  • Accurately reflect current brand positioning and messages for each individual channel.
  • Communicate, build relationships and work with the wider Interactive Media team and other departments to advise and providing assistance where necessary.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge

  • A firm understanding of compliant HTML, CSS and a graphics package such as Photoshop is essential as are good page layout and web design skills.
  • Good overall production skills with an understanding of and an interest in all Web Development processes and technologies, specifically relating to site development, content management and online advertising.
  • A knowledge of online communities, digital technologies and trends, and a passion for digital innovation and design is ideal.
  • Basic familiarity of PHP and JavaScript is desirable.
  • Some prior experience of writing for SEO is desirable.
  • Basic online video editing skills are desirable.

 Personal characteristics

  • Strong time management and understanding of prioritising is essential – the producer must be incredibly responsive to the needs of a 24 hours digital radio business.
  • Ability to react promptly when a quick turnaround is required.
  • Flexible team player while managing tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail while multi-tasking.
  • Self motivated with excellent interpersonal skills

Clive Dickens Talks at Planet of The Apps Europe 2011 Conference

Our boss Clive was invited to talk at this year’s Planet of The Apps Europe 2011 Conference where he has been selected to speak alongside some of the biggest names in the world of Digital media and entertainment. He’s on stage at the moment leading a presentation on ensuring consumer loyalty via a successful mobile app and will be appearing once again before 3pm to join in on an expert panel discussion. He’ll be discussing the notion of taking apps from niche to mainstream.

Rock N Roll Football – Another Awards Nomination – by Paul Sylvester

Congratulations to Dave Kenny and Duncan Amey whose work has resulted in another awards nomination for Rock N Roll football on Absolute Radio.

The TechCon Technical Innovation award will be announced at this year’s Radio Festival later this month and Dave & Duncan are nominated for their work on the Rock N Roll Football Live Scores data. When Absolute Radio won the rights to live and exclusive Barclays Premier League commentaries we wanted to make sure that it was more than just a radio show and through the Live Scores Apps and the Matchday Centre we’ve been able to give fans and listeners the chance to keep up with all of the Barclays Premier League games, all of the time.

The boys have taken a shedload (technical term) of PA data and made it available in a whole host of formats. The data’s processed at lightning speed, making our apps and Matchday Centre one of the most up to the minute resources a football fan can have. The information’s also re-purposed to create Wrighty’s Quiz which changes to reflect the weekend’s games and goals. The popularity of the Live Scores App means it’s now available for iPad and the boys have been busy creating the club specific apps which launched with Liverpool and Arsenal.

Well done gents and fingers crossed for the big announcement at the Radio Festival.
